Our trained staff members are all degreed or certified as fitness instructors, personal trainers or nutrition professionals. For your health and safety, each one is certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Ashley started working at HealthQuest in 2003 as the Aquatic Coordinator and 2008 became the Director. She is originally from Winston-Salem but moved to Kenly, NC in 2001. Ashley graduated from East Carolina University in 2001 and her hobbies include exercise, arts, crafts and spending time with her husband and two children.
Charlene started working at HealthQuest in 2006. She is originally from Randleman, NC and currently lives Clayton. Charlene is a graduate of North Carolina State University and is a certified Land Group Fitness Instructor. Her hobbies include teaching aerobics, outdoors adventures and hiking.
Debbie started working at HealthQuest in 2004. She is a native of Smithfield and retired Johnston County school teacher. Her hobbies include spending time with family, loves to dance/shag and reading.
When Kellie started taking cycling classes she enjoyed it so much she decided she wanted to become an instructor! She completed her certification through IFTA in early 2019 and began teaching cycling classes at HealthQuest in April 2019. Kellie works at Chic-fil-a and Johnston County Schools. She is very energetic, outgoing and passionate about her spin classes. Kellie also likes for everyone to know that she is a very loving person that has autism and is awesome in many ways.
Walk15 Fitness Instructor
Brittani started working at HealthQuest in September of 2019. She is from Selma, NC and refers to herself as small town country girl who loves singing, teaching voice and guitar lessons and simple things, like walking! She’s been a Walk 15 instructor since 2018 and has testimonies of how Walk15 produces amazing results! Come, take a quick walk with Brittani and become a statistic of your own amazing results!
Johnnie has been working at HealthQuest as a water aerobics instructor since 2013. Johnnie retired after 40 years as a registered nurse. Prior to retirement, she became certified in water aerobics as she had personally found many health benefits from water exercise. In addition to activities at HealthQuest, Johnnie is married, has two grown children, and three most wonderful grandchildren. She enjoys swimming, quilting, painting and traveling (especially to Hawaii). Johnnie’s goal at HealthQuest is to encourage others on their journey to improved physical health.
From Lexington, NC, Bonnie relocated to Smithfield in November of 2019 and joined HealthQuest staff in January, 2020. She holds Certifications in Silver Sneakers, Lifeguarding and Aquatic Instruction. For the past 12 years she worked in the Aquatics and Health/Wellness Departments at J. Smith Young YMCA. Bonnie enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family.
Paula Waters joined HealthQuest as a certified fitness group instructor in February of 2020. She is a firm believer in making great food choices and the “Exercise is Medicine" movement. With combined passion for health, exercise, love and zeal for life and people, she stirs up the desire in others to become and live healthier and happier lifestyles! Paula is all smiles, has a positive attitude, energetic and enthusiastic! She believes exercise should be fun; therefore, her classes are structured this way! You are ensured to have a great experience, exercising at your level, while breaking a good sweat in the process with lasting boosted morale!
Danielle joined HealthQuest in April 2021. Certified through Core Power Yoga in Colorado Springs, CO, Danielle has over 9 years of experience teaching various types of yoga which include Core Power, Vinyasa, and Hot Yoga. She is outgoing, enjoys trips to the beach, and outdoor adventures.
Yadira Creech started working at HealthQuest in 2021. She has been cycling for over 20 years and a Spinning Certified Instructor for over 10 years. She likes to call her class "Fiery Cycling" because she instructs in the dark with fun disco lights. Her playlists are extensive, with various culture beats, keeping everyone motivated throughout the 50 minute ride. This class is open for all fitness levels, ages 12 and up.
Kendra began working at HealthQuest in May of 2016 as a Swim Instructor. She graduated from Meredith College with a degree in Business Management in 2004. Kendra is a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard, American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, USA Swim Coach and a Certified Pool Operator. Her hobbies include SCUBA Diving, crafts, playing flyball with her 3 dogs and spending time with her husband and daughter.
Barbara started working at HealthQuest in 2005. She was born in Braswell, New Mexico but has lived in Micro most of her life. She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Land Group fitness instructor, kickboxing and SilverSneakers. Her hobbies include spending time with family and running.
After leaving the U.S. Coast Guard, Blake originally started working at HealthQuest in 2005 . He worked as an Aquatics Trainer and Fitness Trainer for four years before taking a position in pharmaceutical manufacturing. After a twelve year hiatus and two degrees later, Blake has returned to HealthQuest, as an Aquatic Trainer, and couldn't be more excited to be back. He is originally from Sampson County, NC and his hobbies include Xbox, playing with his dogs, and anything fitness related. He is also happily married with four children.
Chris began working at HealthQuest in August of 2016 as a Lifeguard and has been working as a Lifeguard since 2015. Chris is currently dual enrolled in high school and attending Johnston Community College studying welding. Chris’ hobbies include hiking, backpacking, camping, adventuring, rock climbing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting and welding.
Aislin-Anne started working with HealthQuest in June of 2019. She is a student of Corinth Holders High School, Johnston Community College, and North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. In her spare time she loves reading, science and is passionate about keeping animals from going extinct.
Gracie joined HealthQuest Aquatics staff in August of 2020. She is a resident of Princeton, NC where she is a student at Princeton High School. She is also a cheerleader and a member of the softball team. Once Gracie graduates from high school, she plans to attend a prestigious university and become a Flight Paramedic.
Wyatt Langston started working at HealthQuest in 2021. He is currently a student in the Career and Technical Leadership Academy at Johnston Community College, located in Smithfield, NC. Wyatt likes to swim and he enjoys playing the ukulele.
Warren Barefoot joined the HealthQuest team in May 2021. He is a South Johnston High School 2021 graduate who enjoys exercising and hanging out with family and friends. His future plans include pursuing a career as a forensic scientist.
Terri started working at HealthQuest in 2021. She has a Master’s Degree in Nutrition from Meredith College, a subsequent internship through Utah State University and sat for the credentialing exam that granted her the title of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). She has several years of experience preparing her to share her love of food in a way that teaches others that eating well (and with health in mind) is empowering and enjoyable. She loves spending time with her family, being a dietitian and playing oboe and percussion.
Marci started working at HealthQuest in July 2012 and is a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist. She is originally from Texas but moved to North Carolina in 2006.
Julie began working at HealthQuest in January of 2017 as a licensed massage therapist. She received her Massage License in 2016 and earned her degree in Therapeutic Massage (AAS) in May of 2017. Julie lives in Clayton with her husband and has been blessed with three daughters and two granddaughters. Julie enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Angela started working at HealthQuest in May 2019 as a certified massage therapist. She received her license in June 2010, and her mother is also a massage therapist. She enjoys spending time with her sons watching movies, four wheeling, or going to the beach.
Health & Wellness Specialist
Eric started working at HealthQuest in 2003 and currently lives in Raleigh. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management in 2000. Has over 17 years of Personal Training experience and is an American College of Sports Science certified Personal Trainer. His hobbies include playing tennis, basketball and spending time with his family.

Frankie began his career at HealthQuest in January of 2012 as an intern. He graduated from East Carolina University with a BS degree in Health Fitness Specialist. He is also a certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. His hobbies include running, lifting weights, training for Spartan Races and walking his dog Duckie.

Elizabeth “Liz” started working at HealthQuest in 2021. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mount Olive with a B.S. in Exercise Science and is an American College of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer. Her long term goal is to enter a doctoral program for Occupational Therapy. Liz has a passion for helping people enjoy fitness! In her spare time she enjoys working out, going to state parks, and learning new recipes to cook and bake! Her favorite exercise is deadlifts, favorite state park is Umstead and favorite food is cheesecake!
Amanda started working at HealthQuest in 2007. She graduated from South Johnston High School in 2004 and currently lives in Four Oaks. Amanda’s hobbies include shopping and playing with her four children.
Service Representative/ Sitter
Amanda started working at HealthQuest in 2018. She is from Princeton, NC and has worked in child care since 2013. She has her associate’s degree in Graphic Design from Pitt Community College. Her passion is working with children and helping others, and her hobbies include spending time with her family and son. She also loves to play and watch sports, enjoys photography and meeting new people.
Beatriz is better known as Betty! She was born and raised in Smithfield, NC and has been teaching dance fitness for over four years. She received her Zumba certification in 2019 and in 2021 she graduated from Wake Tech with an Associate's Degree in Human Services.
Wynter started working at HealthQuest in 2021. She is a University of Mount Olive graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture. She enjoys arts and crafts, babysitting, spending time with her farm animals and her dog named Button.
Sales & Marketing Representative
Reba started working at HealthQuest in 2019. She was born and raised in North Carolina and has her Associate’s Degree in Commercial Art and Advertising Design. She has also been an ordained minister-pastor for 20 years. She enjoys spending time with her family.
Membership Account Specialist
Kim started working at HealthQuest in 2016 as the Membership Account Specialist, with 10+ years of local banking experience. She is originally from Smithfield and currently lives in Four Oaks. She enjoys spending time with her son and volunteering with Johnston County Schools and Hopewell FWB Church.
Member Engagement Specialist
Graduating from UNC-Wilmington in 2002, with a BS in Business Management and a minor in music, Leslie started working at HealthQuest in 2007. She is a Fitness Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer and Member Engagement Specialist to HealthQuest. Leslie brings 20+ years of group fitness experience; as well as working with individuals, from youth to adults, in helping them meet group and individual goals. Leslie’s hobbies include fun, fishing, boating, dancing and spending time with her family. Her motto is, “Work hard, to play harder!”
Kamryn started working at HealthQuest in 2016. She graduated from Johnston County Early College Academy and Johnston Community College with Associates of Arts in 2019. Kamyrn is currently enrolled at UNCW majoring in Nursing and doubling minor in Biology and Health. Her hobbies include dancing, watching sports, playing basketball, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Jada started working at HealthQuest in 2018. She is from Pine Level and currently attends UNCW majoring in Biology in order to become a P.A. She plays on the softball team, and her hobbies include playing sports, spending time with her family, and going to the beach.
Kelley has been an employee with Johnston Health Hospital since 2013. Along with working in the lab at Johnston Health, she recently joined HealthQuest to assist with Sitter Service. Kelly is energetic, positive and strives to put her best foot forward in caring for all patients and children. She enjoys spending time with her family.
Kyndall started working at HealthQuest in 2020. She is currently a student with Johnston County Career and Technical Leadership Academy (CTLA) where she will graduate with a High School Diploma and an Associate Degree in Information Technology. She plans to further her education by transferring to NC State University to major in Criminology and minor in Forensic Science. Her hobbies include painting, reading, dancing and traveling.
Shelby originally joined the HealthQuest team in 2014 and recently returned in October of 2020. She is a full-time Preschool teacher and works part-time in the HealthQuest sitter room. She loves children and her dog Jax. She enjoys spending time with her friends and going to the beach.
Nevelyn Coley started working at HealthQuest in 2021. She is the wife of Sgt. Ronald Coley, the mother of four, stepmother of two and grandmother of thirteen! She is a licensed financial professional in the insurance industry and loves to write poetry, decorate for various occasions and help in her church. In her leisure time she enjoys bowling, shopping, watching action movies, painting, and sightseeing. With multiple years of personal experience and ten years of professional experience, she is well qualified to care for children of all ages. Nevelyn comments, "Children are the biggest piece of my heart."
