Volunteer Services
What they do
Volunteers at Johnston Health assist staff, patients and visitors. They work 4-hour shifts, while accumulating hours that are rewarded at the annual awards banquet with the presentation of service pins.
The Welcome Center
With a smile and a personal greeting, volunteer teams at the front information desk help to make hospital visitors feel welcome. They provide information and directions and personally assist visitors in finding their destination.
The front desk is staffed Monday - Saturday from 8:30 am - 8:30 pm and Sundays from 1 pm - 5 pm

Other Volunteer service areas
Volunteers are located in the reception areas of the Emergency Department and Same Day Surgery daily from 8 am - 5 pm
They assist with patient check-in, while keeping families updated on their loved ones' treatment and progress.
