 Infectious Disease Specialist - Dr. Octavio Cieza 

Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield, is proud of Johnston County’s first infectious disease specialist.

Dr. Octavio Cieza is board certified in both internal medicine and infectious diseases. He brings expertise to the county in identifying difficult-to-diagnosis diseases such as Lyme disease.

Did you know that Lyme disease is rampant in areas where people are active outdoors?

That means many of us who live, work and play in Johnston County are at risk. Headaches, fever and chronic fatigue are major symptoms of this infection, which can be problematic if left untreated.

Dr. Cieza’s passion is to help and treat those infected with chronic illnesses. He is now consulting and practicing internal medicine at the Medical Arts Pavilion located on the campus of Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield.
